Paige Wells was born and raised in Santa Maria, California, and currently lives in Portland, Oregon. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts, with an emphasis in Sculpture, from the University of Oregon in 2023. Paige currently works in mixed-media drawing and painting, influenced by her foundational education in assemblage and photo sculpture.
Much of her work is inspired by the passage of time, dreams, familiar landscapes, relationships with animals, and image archives. She aims to capture devotion and familiarity through repetition, informality, and ubiquitous ephemera.
Paige’s work seeks to hold the ‘whole world’ within its parallel spaces, using abstraction as a tool to be connected to spiritual influences, the supernatural, and the presence of belief in everyday moments.
